Frankart C101 candlesticks in their earliest and rarest form. This is the scarce original early casting, each signed on the base \'Arthur Von Frankenberg, 1921\'. His first known sculpture of what went on to become the Frankart line of decorative arts. These differ in subtle but important ways from the later mass produced version. The base isnoticeably more elegant and refined. The metal has a distinctive appearance, the finish is a rich deep bronze color that has an authentic bronze look and tactile feel. Significantly nicer then the later painted white metal candlesticks. The pair is insuperb totally original condition, with outstanding provenance. From the estate of Walter Glenn, the \"Frankart King\". Walter only kept the best and most important examples. Although modest, he was unquestionably the authority on Frankart. It\'s unlikely you will ever see a nicer pair.
Arguably Von Frankenberg\'s most significant work, one of his first,if not the first sculpture in this style, the seedling of what became Frankart Inc.
