Wonderful quilt from the c1860 civil war era.
This quilt has a gorgeous turkey red and green, with a off white background. Wonderful flying geese (or sawtooth) border detail.
There is a rod pocket across the top on the back for easy display
It is hand quilted at 7 stitches per inch and has quilted grid work with squares that measure 1\" x 1 1/4\".
It is hand bound.
It measures 88\" x 71\"
This quilt is in good, early antique condition. There are a few small pops in the dark print of the red. There is age spotting, age tan fold lines, a couple spots on the rod pocket ranging from pin dot to lentil size. (See photos.) There is also some light age tanning that was too light to photograph.
Very striking. Unwashed. No odors.
