This ring dates back to the 1940s-1950s. It portrays a \"Knifewing Dancer\" design and is clearly of high-quality Zuni work. The clue to quality inlay work is that there is no metal channel between the gemstone pieces: they have been cut so snugly together that they don\'t need channels. This gorgeous vintage ring shows just this kind of exacting work, with the gemstone pieces of turquoise, mother of pearl, jet, and coral still tightly aligned. Each whole multi-gem segment is held in a delicate, handmade (everything in this piece is handmade) sawtooth bezel. In addition, the ring is further decorated by sand dollar designs surrounding the bottom portion and the wings of the image, and on either side of the dancer\'s head. This is a simply wonderful vintage piece, with a great deal of presence. It is completely unmarked, another clue to its age, but is guaranteed to be of sterling silver. It measures 2-1/4\" tall (north/south) by 1\" wide (east/west) so this is not a shy piece. It weighs 7.1 grams and has split-branch shoulders and a substantial, rounded shank. Likely wearer is a man but it can be worn by woman who has the hands for it, and it looks wonderful on the middle finger. Currently just under a size 8, it can be re-sized. This piece is full of vintage character and represents someone\'s painstaking, quality, handmade work.
