Fabulously Carved Antique Prayer Book StandExquisitelycarved antique prayer book stand probably dating to the 19th century.The intricately carved folate design includes intertwined irises and (I think) castor oil plant.Ingeniously constructed from a single piece of wood, it folds for storage or transport yet is strong enough to hold a prayer book.
This is an antique item and has therefore been used.There is a small loss to one end of the hinge and the feet are worn from use (see pictures).There are tiny losses to raised areas of the carving but they\'re really not too noticeable.
