This sale is for a fine antique Chinese porcelain vase which has been made into a lamp.
The vase is late Qing, from the 1800\'s. It is beautifully decorated in famille rose enamels, with two birds of paradise in a rock garden, with chrysanthemum flowers.
There is a hairline crack on the interior of one side - ie probably a kiln stress crack because it is in the side wall, and does not extend to the vase ends, and does not show evidence of impact damage (the vase base will have been drilled to make a hole for the lamp cord)This lamp was made circa 1920. The cord is from the 1920\'s and will need to be replaced if you want to use this as a lamp.
The porcelain section is about 9 1/4 inches, or about 23 1/2 cm. The total height of the lamp is about 20 inches or about 51 cm.
