Framed in a good reproduction gilded frame of Renaissance model, and ready to hang.

Condition: painted on a wood panel, a few planks joined together; very good condition for the age as seen in the images, a few minor scuffs.

This is a version from the period of Jacopo Bassano\'s most famous painting, The Deposition, the original of which is in the Louvre. The painting was so popular during the artist\'s own lifetime that he and his studio assistants made many copies and versions of the painting. This most likely is one of them. Very great age, so could very well have been produced in the very active Bassano studio.
