Fine 17th century Italia Florentine School Old Master depicting the penitent Magdalene, oil on wood. Early, fine and important depcition of Magdalene by a skull in prayer and looking toward the heavans. Graphic and typically Baroque work with its close dramatic perspective, almost violent use of strong light showing the dirt that covers the cold tones of her flesh. Very special piece presented in an antique frame. Some little restoration is needed, frame had some minor losses.
