An exceptional and fine 18th C. Indian Khyber sword with a beautiful green stained grip and silver inlay.
This example originates in North India and has the original cloth covered timber cloth covered scabbard. The velvet covering is original and has not been refurbished and pleasing floral stamped design can be seen in the velvet cloth itself. The scabbard likewise as the original silver chape of chiseled and repousse design.
The iron furniture of the sword is covered in silver koftgari with floral designs which extend onto the blade along the spine. The blade itself displays a lamellar pattern and is of fine large size.
Rare to find with type of design and quality.
