Beautiful SEVRES Porcelain Plate hand painted, depicting the death ofPrince Louis de Bourbon during the 30 year war of 1641, surrounded by anenameled jeweled rim on cobalt ground accented with a beautiful gildingdecoration, with lobulated rim.
Louis de Bourbon (1 May 1604 – 6 July 1641) was Count of Soissons. Hewas the son of Charles de Bourbon, Count of Soissons and Anne de Montafié. Hewas the second cousin of King Louis XIII of France and a held the rank ofprince of the blood. He was killed inthe Battle of La Marfée outside of Sedan on 6 July 1641.
Marked with blue interlaced \"L\" Sevres mark.

Condition: In very good conditionas pictured. No chips or cracks. Thegilt decoration has some waste and some dots of enamel are missed, shown inpictures.
