A fine example from the Burma/China/Thailand border regions, this example displays elements of design from all cultures, including enamel inlay work, in a plique a jour technique with silver wire enclosing vari colored enamel.
The blade is a fine fighting blade with a tiger mark, a known mark on Burmese blades but the edge is rounded in a way more atypical of Burmese blade which normally have a flattened blade edge, whereas this is rounded in a style more reminiscent of Thai darb.
The fine hilt is silver mounted with a chiseled pommel of large fine design. The scabbard is timber and retains it\'s original red carrying textile.
A fine large example at 37\" in length and a blade of 22\" in untouched condition straight from a fine old California collection of ethnographic arms, collected in the period 1920-1950.
