Signed J R Greig lower right see photo. A master of figurative work his skill is apparent in this snapshot of smile between two people amidst the daily drudgery. All original in period gilt frame painting measures 14\" x 10 1/2\" and 23\" x 20\" in its frame. An excellent example of this well listed artists work, ready to hang.
Greig was a portrait, figure and landscape painter who studied at Gray\'s school of Art, Aberdeen, RSA Schools and Paris, he later taught art at
former. He exhibited at the Glasgow Institute, London Salon, Royal Society of Portrait Painters , The Royal Academy and The Royal Scottish Academy on 35 occasions.
