Fine Antique 1880s Pedestal Table Top Stereoscope Parlor Stereo Viewer+ 24 Antique Real Photo Stereoview Cards of Various have collected 3D photo memorabilia for 30+ years and it\'s time that I let some of my prized collectibles go.
The Stereoviewer:This listing is for an Antique pedestal or table top Stereoscope Stereoviewer Viewer. Judging from other dated viewers in my collection is probably dated from around the 1880s. The viewer is completely original as far as I can tell. It doesn\'t have a maker mark or patent date, but it does have a little design imprinted on the slider. If anyone knows more about it, please email! It has all the original hardware and the slider matches the wood of the rest of the viewer. The wood is all in great shape with no loose pieces or screws. I\'m not sure if the hood is walnut ormahogany, but it is beautiful and has an almost incandescent glow when light shines on it. There are no chipsscratchesor (especially) broken edges that are so typical of these viewers. There is some damage to the base of the viewer - Please see my photos. I\'m not sure what happened to it, but it was repaired back in the day and really doesn\'t detract from the beauty of the piece. The optics are clean and clear and it stands about 13\" tall and looks great on a coffee table or in a cabinet. It works as good today as it did 130+ years ago.
The 24 Stereoviews:Also with the viewer is a set of 24 B&W real photo Stereographs or StereoviewCards. They are the standard 7\" x 3-1/2\" and are in varying condition from poor toexcellent - They all look great in 3D! All of the cards are real photographs mostlyfeaturing comic and Victorian family scenes, and places. They all have variouspublishers such as Keystone, International, Charles Bierstadt, Strohmeyer &Wyman, New Series, American Scenery, Comics & Groups, Life Groups, JF Jarvis,Kilburn Brothers, American Stereoscopic, Littleton View Co., and several otherunmarked cards. All views are pictured in my last photo. I tried to choose stereoviewsthat were about from the same time period.
This is an awesome viewer for any 3D enthusiast and would look great on display! The pedestal viewers were alot more expensive back in the day and are a lot lesscommon. If you have any questions, please email! Thanks for looking!
