Click to View Image Album This is a fine English antique rosewood dress cane walking stick…monogrammed gold collar…dated 1919…from an extensive estate cane collection.

This fine dress cane is 33” long…believed to be for a child or short person because of size…handle is about 3 ¾” across…shaft is a slightly tapered fine rosewood with slight age and use wear…great color and grain…gold collar with maker’s mark “J H” believed to be for J. Howell & Co…fancy script etched initials “WC” and “3-5-19” date…dings and scratches on gold band…see my pics.

J. Howell & Co. was a London cane and walking stick maker and used this maker’s mark from 1906 to 1924. This great old dress cane, carried for style and possibly light support, makes a nice addition to your collection.
