Exquisitely Embroidered Chinese / Japanese Silk Satin Stitch Panel -Lovely 19th c. Silk Embroidered Textile of Tiger, Artist Signed.

The panel is finely stitched in silk threading on silk satin backing showing exceptional detail throughout. The panel depicts a stalking tiger with black, white & gray colors being destinct characters of early Chinese Xiang embroidery. The tiger is a popular Asian symbol of both China and Japan. The panel is in very good condition and dates to Qing Dynasty c. 1868-1911, and from the Hunan province. No missing or loose threads. The silk panel is is 25\" long and 14\" wide framed under glass. Frame is lacquer wood.
