This lovely, early German papiermachedoll isin generally good condition as she has been preservedby her original family for over one hundred years. Fully signed across the back of her shoulderplate (as shown in photos) she retains her wonderful original gusseted kid leather body with small waistline, wonderful finger detailsand proportioned rear, which allows her to sit nicely (one lower leather leg needs repair or replacement as it is torn and leaking sawdust, covered by her lace stockings). She has beautifully molded and paintedcurly black hair with deep center part, blue painted eyes, delicate eyelashes and brows and sweetly shaped mouth with dividing line between her lips. However, one eye looks to have had some touch up long ago and could be improved a bit.These well made early papiermache dolls are difficult to find with their original bodies. And this beauty from long ago is no exception. She has no cracks or chips and no repairs or odors as she is from a smoke free home. Her antique Greiner friend and other dolls arenot included and listed separately.
