Cathedral Fine Art\"Admiring the View\"
English School, mid 19th century
oil painting on canvas, framedframed measurements: 27.5 by 31 inches
Fine original mid 19th century English School oil painting on canvas. The work depicts this romantically tranquil landscape, with distant rising hills and a lake with white sails dotted in the distance. A lone figure pauses on their travels, admiring the view, whilst ancient abbey ruins stand to the right. The scene is enveloped by surrounding woodland and foliage and is beautifully composed and depicted. Presented in this superb quality gilt swept frame which compliments the painting excellently.
Condition report:
The painting is in very presentable and pleasing condition. There is a small area of damage to the sky. which is not noticeable at most angles. Period frame has minor losses but very presentable. Frames:
Due to the fragile nature of old frames, our shippers do not provide compensation for any damage caused during transit. We go to great lengths to ensure each painting is packed and protected to a very high standard but sadly cannot compensate or refund for any damage occurring to frames during transit. *our gallery reference for this painting: BE1617/19042016
