Fine Pair of Crested Georgian Stuffing Spoons by Thomas Chawner, 1774:
$425.00

Offered is a lovely and scarce matched pair of quite early Old English Feather Edge pattern platter spoons or stuffing spoons, each fully hallmarked for London, 1774 and each bearing the maker\'s mark of noted London silversmith Thomas Chawner. Each server is engraved with an armorial of a dog, perhaps a spaniel of some kind. This is the earliest matched pair of stuffing spoons that I have come across. These spoons each measure about 12 1/4 inches in length and the pair weighs a total of about 208 grams. Condition is very good overall, with only modest tip and surface wear and no splits or repairs. One spoon has a very subtle bump in the bowl that is hard to detect except in a raking light; the other is perfect. All in all an exceptional pair of Georgian English sterling silver stuffing spoons!Winning buyer pays $7.15 for priority mail shipping in the U.S.; shipping to the UK would be uninsured airmail and would be $18. Item may be returned within five days of receipt if item is not authentic or condition differs substantially from that described or shown. Thank you and please check out my other silver listings here and on the web! Thanks, \"Cliff Nunn Antique Silver\"
