Description Asuperb rare English antique Victorian solid sterling silver chatelaine chain, complete with genuine antique solid silver accessories/tools, by the silversmiths C C May & Sons,and with full English silver hallmarks forBirmingham 1897.Excellentquality genuine 118 year old silver example, has a beautiful pierced and engravedbelt plate complete with hinged belt catch and attached are 6 silver chains of varying lengths withsome lovely silver items including a Victorian silver rotating pin cushion, a floral engraved silver scent/perfume bottle, a pair of Edwardian silver sewing scissors and holder, a decorative Edwardian silver pill/rouge box and also a genuine French silver 1 Franc coin dated 1872. The total weight is a heavy approx. 132 grams and there are no added personal engraved monograms or inscriptions.

Measurements Large size, measures approx10.75 inches (272mm) in length (including accessories). The silver belt plate measures 2.5 inches x 2.25 inches.

Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks forBirmingham 1897(date letter \"x\"), stamped in 2 separate places on the plate and the belt catch. There are no hallmarks on the chains but they are 100% guaranteed solid silver. The accessories have various hallmarks and makers, scissors case Birmingham 1897, scissors Birmingham 1906, the pin cushion is Birmingham 1897, and the pill/powder box is Birmingham 1905. The scent bottle is unmarked but 100% guaranteed antique solid silver.Maker Silversmiths initials \"C.M\", (C C May & Sons/Charles May).ConditionLovelycondition, the pierced silver belt plate has no repairs or dents and the hinged belt catch is original and moves freely. There are no breaks to the silver chains, a couple of the chains are replacements. Five of the6 chain lengths have swivel/dog catches, all with good springs, some are hallmarked and all are antique solid silver. All theaccessories are antique solid silver, and in good condition, there are a few dents on the pill/powder box, and therehas been a little repair on one of the scissor arms, (all tight and secure and work fine).
