Listed this week is session two of this very fine and important estate collection. This is surely one of our Finest and Largest Asian art estate sales to date. The items listed are from the estate of Henrietta Anthony of Quebec. Ms. Anthony owned one of the most prominent antique galleries in Montreal that she ran from the age of 18 to 80, for 62 years. Anthony also owned a large and very successful vineyard in the hills of southern Quebec. Ms. Anthony had a passion for Chinese art and was well known in the area for being a top dealer and knowledgeable appraiser. The items listed are from her private collection of choice and unique examples she kept over the years. I am told most of the items were purchased 30-40 years ago mainly in London, Hong Kong, and New York. I believe this is a rare opportunity to acquire some very fine and authentic fresh to market choice examples. Up for sale is an interesting Chinese carved jade cicada insect form pierced vinaigrette box pendant. This box is a very interesting and unique example and I have not seen another one like this. The box is very finely carved throughout with a great cicada insect design. The box is finely carved to the interior with pierced holes throughout. I am told this would be a vinaigrette pendant to hold a small sponge with light floral or perfume fragrance. The box is in fine condition wit no damage. The box measures 3/4 inches long, by 1 inch wide, and 3/4 of an inch tall. This box is one of the most interesting and unique examples I have personally seen.
