Fine U.s. Mod. 1906 Iron Hilted Cavalry Sword For Sale
Fine U.S. Mod. 1906 Iron Hilted Cavalry Sword This is the last of the older Civil War type cavalry swords. They were in existence from 1906 to 1913, when the straight Patton sword came out. The smooth, silverish gray blade has a couple of minor nicks on the bottom and some dark age spots near the end. There is no rust or pitting on the blade. The blade stampings "A.S.C.o. - 1906" with ordinance bomb and "U.S. J.H.C." are very sharp and clear. The iron hilt has a nice, even, silverish gray finish, with some dark spots and a little brown patina in a few areas. There is a "C" stamped on the pommel. The leather and wire grip are totally intact with a little wear to the leather. The hilt has no dents, bends, or scratches. The scabbard retains about 95% + of the arsenal blue finish. There is no rust or pitting on the scabbard, but it does have some minor dents. Otherwise, it is very fine. Totally, the sword and scabbard are in fine + condition and would be a great addition to any U.S. sword or cavalry sword collection. E-checks will be voided and canceled by the seller immediately.
