Offered here is an excellent and authentic New Guinea flute with figural carving or stopper.
Entire piece measures 31\" tall. Width of flute itself is about 3\".
Wrapped in wood or bamboo, with feathers at the bottom.
The figural part that is showing measures 8\" tall. The wrapped wood is holding the figure in place so that I have never tried to remove it.
The head is an excellent carving, missing one of the cowrie shell eyes.
An older piece that I have owned for many years, still with the tag from the previous private collection.
