Description: A very rare andexceptionally fine Victorian novelty vinaigrette in the form of a book by theexcellent makers Charles Rawlings and William Summers. The whole is silver giltwith all over foliate engraving, the ribbed spine entitled \'SOUVENIR\' has twosuspension loops for a neck-chain. The front with a large cartouche containinga handsome contemporary monogram, the rear panel with a superbly executedengraving of a poppy. Opens to reveal the magnificent pierced grille.Hallmarked on both lids, and the grille. A serious A list collector\'svinaigrette.

Condition: In pristinecollector\'s condition with no damage or repair of any kind excepting one smallshallow scratch inside the top lid, only mentioned in the interest of totalaccuracy, the hinges working as new, the gilding in superb condition and themarks clear.
