Worn over the higher heart chakra,  it protects against colds and may lower blood pressure.

Member of the Plagioclase feldspar labradorite seldom forms crystals but when crystals do occur they are tabular.  Most often occurs in crystalline masses that can be microscopic or up to a yard and is commonly characterized by it's SCHILLER effect.  This is a rich play of iridescent colors principal blue but also an array of colors.  Crystal that display this effect are used as gemstones.  The SCHILLER effect is caused by the scattering of light from thin layers of a second feldspar that develops through internal chemical seperation during the cooling of what was originally a single feldspar.
