This is a scarce medieval bronze posy type ring,decorated with a runningfoliagedesign. We usually find rings ofthis type in gold, set with bright enamel. Sometimes with aninscription, of love (or wishing the wearer a happy new year).This example is of a large size, likely for a glove. Sadly thereis no posy or inscription inside, rings in bronze rarely do. Itis in good excavated condition, though has had the old seamreattached. It would be possible to wear this ring again withcare, if one so wishes!
