This is a vintage, framed FLORENTIA ITALY \'GIMCRACK\' PAINTING BY GEORGE STUBBS. This very rare art print was handcrafted in Italy and is not a canvas wrap, but rather wood with a unique texture thatresembles cracked canvas. The black and gold frame measures 14.375\" (36.15cm) long and 11.75\" (29.85cm) high.
The back shows the unfinished wood with the green \"FLORENTIA ITALY\"label attached. We estimate this art print to be from the 1960-1970s and is in pristine condition.
This is a beautiful reproduction of George Stubbs\' original painting of Gimcrack, a widely successful English Thoroughbredracehorse winning 27 of his 36 races in a turf career spanning seven seasons. Gimcrack won his last race in 1771.
