This is one of the most interesting things I have ever come across. It appears to be a wood & wire automaton/ whirligig of a risqué encounter between a man and woman. It doses not appear to be whole but works all the same.. I have no ideal where this would have been displayed because of the nature of it. When the foot of the male ( broken) is flipped it makes the couple engage. 2 nails on bottom have unknown purpose. Red & black paint and natural wood grain. All original finish and patina. Measures 8 inches long and is about 6 inches tall. Being sold as is. Condition is all original as found. Her left arm looks to be broken where. It joins the barrel. 3 of the 4 feet appear to have broken tips. Wear and dirt commensurate to age which is believed to be late 1800\'s early 1900\'s. Purchased in Tidewater Virginia. Unmarked and maker is unknown. Any questions I would be happy to answer.
