I do not know for sure what type of metal they are but I think they are steel. The shank was soldered on.

They weigh 1/4 oz each. Heavy. Strong.

They DO respond to a magnet test.

They are NOT tarnished by bleach.

No signs of rust.

I believe they are iron molded but I am not sure.

They were part of a lot of seeing goods I purchased. The rest of the items in the lot were from the 20s-50s, so that is when I believe these were made.
