Up for sale is a hand crafted, completedand framed Crewel ColorArt Embroidery Picture. It is a charming picture of a cat.It is from the JCA Needle Treasures Collection designed by Lillian Evans.

The size is 6 x 8. He is just charming!

The embroidery is stretched and mounted on to plywood backing. The back is professionally finished with craft paper. There is a paper banner indicating this was from the Needle Treasures Collection that can easily be removed as it is not permanently attached. On ther front there is a sticker indicating this was a model for kit #30720. The number of 720 dates this to the late 1970s or early 1980s. This model has beentucked away all these years by the manufacturer or could have been on display in a store.

This is a picture of a kit for this embroidery that I found. It is being shown for reference only as this item does not come with a kit.

With colorart the design is printed onto fabric and then enhanced with stitches. For this kitty, the design work is done with crewel stitches. The cat is done in creweland some of the flowers are also done in embroidery stitches.

I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA (Johnson Creative Artis) Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing any more needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:
