French 950 Sterling Silver Gold Gilt 5 Piece Empire Tea Set - 42 Ozt.:

This listing is for an antique French gold gilded sterling silver tea set. It bears 950 silver guarantee marks from the Paris office circa 1819 to 1838. It is in very nice condition with only a very slight bump to the sugar bowl. The gilding is in very nice condition. It is hallmarked by a maker that uses a standing lion passant and initials , However The Mark is obscured on every piece making it illegible. Considering the number of makers that used a lion passant in there Mark I will not hazard a guess as to the maker. The creamer measures a little over 4 inches tall the sugar bowl measures about 5.25 inches. The teapot measures about 7 inches tall and appears to be more of the Demitasse variety. The cups are about 3 1/2 inches tall.
