French Art Deco Moderne Commode with Shagreen Top Buffet Credenza:

Phenomenal black satin lacquered French commode dating from the late 1940s or early 1950s. Clean and elegant lines define this piece, complete with a large and deep single shelf on the inside, and a large brass lock mechanism. Finish is a deep black satin lacquer, recently redone. Top is figured in a diamond paneled shagreen (manta ray skin) in a light sea green coloration. Feet caps are in an ivory finish lacquer, as is the separate decorative wood scrolling piece under the double cabinet doors.
