Normally when you see a title with French Sterling in it, it is an error. In this case it is not. This is a modern piece which is actually the sterling standard not .950. The Minerva head has a 1 on the left and a C on the right. So it was made in the third cycle 1993-2002, by the famous firm of Tetard brothers.

You will notice this is very small. It is meant to go in your pocket and taken out to take a taste of Brandy or Armagnac before riding after the hounds. I hate to think what this sold for new, but it would be much less than you would pay for an antique one, and the starting price is less than half the only other one I could find on the market. Rarer than its cousin the wine taster an 18th c. one would cost you at the very least $2,000.
