This decorative, female Art Nouveau bust was made around 1900 by the German sculptor Fritz Kochendörfer (1871-1942). Painted ceramic. \"F. Kochendörfer\" is printed on the back. The number \"321\" appears at the bottom of the base. The name \"Schindler\" also appears in the base.
Condition: It was broken at some point and has been restored. There are several cracks at the top and back of the head and on the base. The damage was not easy to photograph. There are more cracks than appear in the photos. The face was not damaged. The cracks have been repaired and painted over and are not readily visible. The repairs are solid, and the figurine is not overly fragile.
Otherwise, the bust shows age-related signs of wear. There is flaking paint, minor loss of material, scratches and some dirt in the crevices. The overall dimensions of the figure with base are approximately 13.5\" tall x 8\" across the shoulders. It is 3.5\" x 4\" at the bottom of the base.
