This is a very rare item! It is a sterling silver pepper mill - grinder made by the famous Danish silversmith Company Georg Jensen. It feels super in the hand and is fully functional. It resembles the acorn pattern. It has a French grinding mechanism Peugeot Freres. It does not have a silver band at the bottom to hold the grinding movement it never had one! Jensen for some reason never put one on his vintage pepper mills. You therefor have to hold your thumb underneath when you are refilling with pepper corns. It is one of a pair but you are only offerding on one item. I will be listing the other one later .
HALLMARK: 1915 - 1930 A circle surrounded by dots with the words Georg Jensen and another hallmark GI above in the middle 925 and underneath an S. Model 358.
SIZE: Height 4.25 \" or 10.5 cm. Base diameter 3.5 cm.
WEIGHT: Total silver weight is 4.9 ozs. or 138 grms. Total weight including grinding mechanism
6 ozs. or 172 grms.
CONDITION: This pepper mill has been professionally polished and the inside mechanism sandblasted so it is ready for use. It is in excellant condition.
