GEORGE II DOUBLE LIPPED TODDY LADLE – circa 1760:
$62.23

Avery nice Georgian silver Toddy Ladle, with a plain round bowl with a doublelip and is inset with a George II 1757 silver sixpence. The bowl is measures 10cms lip to lip and 5 cms across. It hasa very worn bright-cut edge to the bowl and the obverse of the coin is worn, however the reverse of the coin is much less worn and the date is clear toread.

The(cow?) horn handle is set into a silver mount attached to the bowl and is 28cms long from bowl to tip. The 23 cms horn section has a barley twist over itslength.

There are no hall marksbut I have tested it and it indicates .800 fineness as opposed to the .925sterling standard.
