VERY RARE - Sheffield - SUPERB GEORGIAN JUG - 7 troy oz

This is a really outstanding GEORGIAN solid sterling silver milk or cream jug which was made in Sheffield, England in 1817 by the illustrious North Country silversmiths, Thomas Bladgen& Company at their Whiterails workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality jug is in superb condition. This wonderful jug is in an oval rectangular design with a gilded bowl, a gadrooned rim,reededsides and has a gorgeousshell scrollhandle. The jug measures 3 3/8\" wide, 5 5/8\" from spout to handle and stands 4\" tall. It is VERY substantial - it weighs215.3 grams-almost 7troy oz. It is NOT engraved.

The jug is in very good condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and NO splits and no erasures and NO repairs -less than the usual collection of minor dings and dents - SUPERB. It is hallmarkedwith T.B over &Co, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), George III duty mark, crown over xshowing that it was hallmarked inSheffield in 1817. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A really lovely and very rare PROVINCIAL Georgian jug in superb condition after almost 200 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and .
