A beautifully modeled and painted Goebel figurine of a cherub representing the month of August in mint condition. It is about 4 1/4 inches tall kneeling on a finely
detailed sheaf of wheat. It has beautifully painted face with nice pink cheeks, full red lips and lovely blue eyes, finely modeled fingers, wavy blondish hair and a pastel blue modesty cloth. It is very, very well done! August is written in script on the base in gold and there are gilt stripes on the base and side.There is also a label that reads Goebel August, August and Aout. On the bottom, there is the Goebel W Germany label and under the glaze is stamped 1978 and 12 028-11 and a mark which I can\'t make out. This figurine is in PERFECT condition with no chips, crazing, breaks or repairs. It would be a perfect gift for that special person born in August. All and all, a really wonderful piece of Goebel!!!
