GOOD LANTERN CLOCK MOVEMENT EARLIER 18TH C LATER CONVERTED TO LONGCASE:

A very good posted frame lantern clock movement dating from the earlier 18th century but which has been converted at a later date for use as a longcase clock movement.
The top and bottom movement plates are square rather than rectangular, have cut aways for the original chapter ring at the front edges and retain the set of six holes for the frets (top plate), the four holes for the hinges of the side doors and two holes for the hanging loop (back edge top plate); all indicating that this was originally a lantern clock.
Anchor escapement.
Good wheelwork with well formed teeth.
For restoration or for study.

Untpouched for many years
The movement is in good original condition, if tarnished
Some wear to the pinions but the wheel trains run smoothly when pressure is applied to them.
The movement is complete.
Pulley and lead counterweight with drive chain are present
