The first thing that strikes you about this salon suite is the condition, having just been restored by my very experienced restorer (50 years) it is consequently in excellent condition and is ready for immediate use in the home or for retailing in a prestigious showroom or fair.

The second thing that strikes you about this salon suite is the colour and patination. The cabinetmaker that made this salon suite chose some very good quality timbers for the job, this has resulted all these years later in a salon suite with a gorgeous soft rich warm colour and patination that can only be attained by walnut of this age and quality.

Thirdly are the proportions, the design of this salon suite is just right and the salon suite benefits from having a good balance, meaning that it “sits” well with a real “presence”

Now we know everything on is “fantastic” “glorious” “superb” “brilliant” “magnificent” “greatest” “resplendent” “superior” etc etc but when we say this is a very good salon suite we mean it.

The items have long histories of daily use and as such, over time they can gain minor scratches, marks and sometimes shrinkage splits, signs of old woodworm, lifts or losses to any veneer, which a long with daily care and years of polishing go together to create individual character and patina. We describe any flaws in the items that fall outside of this bracket but cannot describe each of these marks separately. But if anything, we tend to be over critical of our items but if you are not sure please do not buy or take the view that the only way to have it absolutely perfect is to have it fully and comprehensively restored.
