This is an original piece of Disney animation art dating from 1989. It is an 11” x 14” photostat model sheet from the film “Sport Goofy in Soccermania” which was Disney production # 2531. As seen in the pictures, the piece contains about 20 drawings of Goofy in various poses. It has two small pin holes in the black strip along the top which one would expect in an actual photostat model sheet because the purpose was to have the animator pin the model sheet up by his drawing table so he could refer to the images and maintain the consistency in the design of the character.
This piece comes from the personal collection of John Cawley who authored several books on various facets of animation and who worked at Disney during the 1980’s before leaving to head the Marvel Animation Studio in Japan. The piece comes with a Cartoon Classics gallery Certificate of Authenticity and lifetime guarantee.
