Here's a rare 1870's Rowsell type parlor stereographoscope made of a gorgeous burl walnut wood. The stereographoscope is used to view cabinet photos and other 2 dimensional photos as well as standard 7" stereoview cards. This stereographoscope is in exceptional condition with a fine crack in the wood frame on the left side of the large 5" magnifier lens. (long since mended and structurally sound). Also the typical small stress crack at the rear of the groove which the slide traverses. It measures 9-1/2" x 16" x 20" tall when in use. The viewer features bone ivory finials atop the brass rods and retains the original seller/distributor's name tag. The stereo lenses measure 2" in diameter. All glass is clear and defect free.
