Presented is a wonderful jewelry / table box. It was made in France in the second half of the 1800s. It is made of higher standard .950 purity sterling silver. It is hallmarked underneath and under the lid with the Minerva and also the maker Marret & Beaugrand. Of oval form, the whole box is completely gold-washed. It has a very high relief decorative monogram of \"CBS\" on the lid. It also has a key lock. Measures about 6.5\" wide x 4 5/8\" deep x 1\" high. The box is made of very heavy & thick gauge silver and it weighs 423 grams. Piece is in superb condition, minus age wear. Some of the gold-wash has worn off. We do not have the key for the lock.
