First Deluxe Edition, one of 260 large paper copies, finely bound in recent vellum gilt with new silk ties. Large book, oversized, thick volume. Black-and-red title, 32 superb tipped-in full colour lithograph plates, each separately printed and tipped-in onto dark brown mounts, all under captioned tissues, this impressive volume is profusely illustrated. TEG ( Top Edge Gilt), others uncut. The contents on a English hand-made art quality paper, which is very thick and is textured, an art paper similar to watercolur papers, such as Arches or Fabriano. A pleasure to behold such a beautiful book. Condition: Externally, a FINE copy. Tight and square binding. Internally, very NR FINE. Slight scattered spotting to upper margin of title, one tissue slightly creased as was slightly incorrectly inserted in 1909 with a bubble in the gutter ( entirely typical to most of these rare hand-made editions), all plates are perfect, there are no bookplates or inscriptions. A gorgeous copy, rare, very beautiful illustrated book - very small edition.
