This sale is for a gorgeous rare antique early 1900s handmade tiny glass beaded faux pearl trim of the Edwardian era salvaged from a wedding gown. Please look at Photos 3-7 in particular, for bead loss....This shows the trim from left-to-right......I believe that the glass bugle beads are mercury-lined. Detailed description to follow this evening, since I have misplaced this lovely trim......Size (length) is approximately - imagine this being placed at the front of a small waistline (guesstimate: 16\").......This a rare find......It has thick off-white threads on underside whichkeep the beadwork intact. Although it is flawed, I believe that one would be able to find beads for replacement on or leave \"As Is\"....Once it is placed onto a garment (if one chooses to do this), it would not really be noticeable. This is a wonderful trim for the collector of unique and hard-to-find trims.....
This measures approximately 23\" in length x 1 3/4\" in width;the large round faux glass pearl in center of medallion is a tad less than 1/2\" in diameter;tiny glass pearls are about 1/4\" in diameter;rhinestones encased in glass are approximately 3/16\";medallion is about 2\" in diameter at widest point......
Note: I have a vast collection of antique beaded textiles, and I can honestly say that I have never come across one similar to this....although there are some missing beads or tiny areas where it could be attached with needle and thread (without adding beads), it is really not that noticeable, however, it will require patience for perfect restoration.....If one will look at Photos 3 - 7, you will see that it is not that flawed. If one wishes for absolute perfection, please think carefully before placing a offer, since this is being sold \"AS IS\".
