This sale is for a beautiful, quality antique 19th century rich black cut silk velvet/beaded fragment salvaged from a Victorian era jacket bodice. It is on a silk satin ground with a cotton base. This is a rare find and is a must for the collector. I have never come across this type of fabric in which the slightly raised lush silk velvet leaf motifs are edged with tiny jet glass beadwork. It is in very good conditon for its age and has substance;it is not flimsy in weight. It measures approximately 20.5\" length (straight side) x 4\" across bottom edge x 4.5\" x 15\" slightly curved length opposite side. It is 5\" across top edge.
