- A gorgeous, unusual crumb scraper set, like those used in exclusive dining establishments and well-to-do households in the late 19th century. Most often used before dessert was served, a crumb scraper was used to clean crumbs and other food particles from the tablewithout the need to disrupt the table setting. Many of those used in private households were ornate.
