are offerding on a very handsome and impressive large matte blue tall Rookwood Art pottery vase dated 1923. A sleek and timeless form, in a harmonious Arts & Crafts aesthetic with stylized embossed floral detail work running up the sides. Features a handsome matte glaze that is most unusual with blues and browns - perhaps an experimental glaze technique? Really a gorgeous vase in an American Arts & Crafts, Prairie School, Mission Oak, American Bungalow aesthetic. -- Measures 7 3/4" tall and 12 1/2" around the bottom bulbous form with a tape measure
In very fine - near mint condition with no chips - the bottom base circle has a small hairline that I did not even notice until I scanned the bottom on my scanner to show the Rookwood factory marks. It is cosmetic and not structural and cannot be seen unless examining the bottom mark very closely and when placed it is not visible - aside from this minute flaw -this is pristine & and by all accounts just a gorgeous example ~~
