Description:This sale is foran AS IS EXTREMELY RARE SCARCE antique estate Gorham sterling silver .925 tea strainer, in the 1890 Salem Witch pattern, which is NOT monogrammed. This is the extremely popular second pattern which the retailer Daniel Low had made for them by the Gorham Company. The handle, which is attached to a delicate flower shaped bowl, features the Salem Witch with her broom & cat. The strainer is marked on the side of the bowl with the Gorham lion anchor G mark sterling, the number 276. The strainer measures approximately 4 3/4 inches long.The strainer weighs approximately .735 ozt. The strainer is in AS IS antique estate condition as follows; THERE IS AMISSING HANDLE REST, & POSSIBLE DENT IN THAT SAME VICINITY. COULD POSSIBLY BE RESTORED, SEE MY LAST PHOTO FROM AN OLD DANIEL LOW & CO SALEM MASS CATALOG FOR COMPARISON. I HAVE POLISHED THIS LIGHTLY FOR PHOTOS.
