Guilloche Enamel & Sterling Silver Desktop Calendar Art Deco Perpetual Revolving For Sale
This is for a stunning and extremelystylish lookingvintage art deco sterling silver and guilloche enamel desktop calendar from 1935. The silver front is a vivid turquoise blue guilloche enamel that has a strong sunburst engine turned design under the enamelThe silver is mounted onto wood with the two knobs on the top that rotate the cover roundand move the red line down and across to show the date, as you turn the knobs the red line moves down to indicate the date.The back of the calendar has a hinged door so the original cards inside can be altered depending on how the days fall in the month. The silver carries a full set of English hallmarks dating it to Birmingham 1935 along with the makers initials WJM&Co for WJ Myatt & Co. It is in absolute excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere, there are no chips or cracks in the glassy smooth enamel there are no dents in the silver and no cracks in the wood.The basemeasures 150mm (5.75") x 45mm (1.75") and stands 95mm (3.75") tall.
