Candlewicking is sewing French or Colonial knots onto fabric in a pattern. It is traditionally done by hand. By using a computerized sewingmachineand this foot, you can duplicate the look in a fraction of thetime. Knots are created byprogrammingseveral zigzagstitchestogether with straight stitches inbetween. Alarge grove underneath the foot allows you to sew over the knots created.
The specialty Candlewicking Foot is designed w/ an extra deep grove in the underside to b e used with the Designer Diamond Candlewicking Stitches in Menu X or any of the programmed Candlewicking stitches on our machine. This foot is also helpful if you use heavy 30 w.t top thread and a top stitching needle to sew the Candlewicking stitches.The Candlewicking Foot is used for the programmed Candlewicking Stitches when using 40, 50, or 60 weight threads. This foot is also useful for sewing over round cording, string pearls or any round trim that is 1/8\" in diameter or smaller. It can also be used to insert an invisible zipper.
