This is a genuine Safavid cuerda seca border tile. The Safavid period dates from 1501-1736, I am not knowledgeable enough to know exactly how old this tile is within this era.It measures 16 cm by 6.8 cm and is 2 cm in depth.It is very beautiful as can be seen, the design is very unusual. There are imperfections in the glaze- a result of the manufacturing process. It has slight damage to one short end as can be seen.This is a rare and beautiful tile and will be a great find for the right person.I am not a specialist and would love to find out more about the tiles that I have listed if anyone has any information.I am selling a small collection of beautiful tile fragments this week- please take a look.
